Contractor Payroll Specialist

**Overview:**
**Aerotek has an immediate opening for a Contractor Payroll Specialist at the corproate office in Hanover, MD.**
**Hours:** Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:30am
**Compensation:** $23. 07/hr (annualized at $48,000.00), plus bonus potential of $4,000.00
**Job Summary:**
Reporting to the Payroll Lead, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing daily and weekly payroll for contract employees. The Payroll Specialist verifies, monitors and processes payroll and tax data utilizing daily reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with Federal, state and company/client specific payroll policies and procedures.
**Essential Functions:**
+ Analyze and troubleshoot daily payroll audits to ensure daily and weekly payroll.
+ Audit state and local tax codes for accuracy.
+ Audit daily payout requests and ensure accurate completion of those requests.
+ Communicate with internal and external partners across the United States.
+ Educate internal and external partners on proper payroll policies and procedures.
+ Audit wages and taxes for contract employees.
+ Conduct proper procedures to correct contract employee wage and tax discrepancies.
+ Demonstrate efficient time management and organization skills to meet daily deadlines for processing payroll.
**Minimum Education/Abilities/Skills:**
+ Strong attention to detail.
+ Strong communication and follow up skills, both written and verbal.
+ Strong time management skills with high volume and multitasking experience.
+ Strong customer service skills with phone experience.
+ Computer Skills: Microsoft Office and Excel experience.
**Special Requirements:**
+ Exposure to data auditing is preferred but not required.
+ Payroll experience is preferred but not required.
