Contractor role - 3D Construction Modeling Specialist

Job Overview

This role is part of the Smart Construction Design team which develops 3D construction models for Komatsu Distributors and/or customers throughout North America. The Smart Construction group is responsible for development, marketing, and delivery of a suite of innovative digital solutions to the North American construction market. 

 

Key Job Responsibilities

Duties will include producing 3D GPS machine control models utilizing AutoCAD and Carlson software from construction plans and AutoCAD files provided.  This role will be responsible for accurate data and making sure the product delivered meets the requirements and tolerances of machine control technology. This position will involve daily interaction with customers in the construction field, via both email and phone.  All project-related activity and customers communications will be tracked and shared with other team members daily.  

Ultimately, This position will provide a quality 3D modeling solution to be utilized in 3D systems manufactured by TopCon, Trimble, Carlson, Leica, and others.  

Qualifications/Requirements Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Carlson, or other civil design software is strongly preferred    Prior drafting or 3D modeling experience is required  Ability to read construction blueprints is required  Comfortable using the various tools of Microsoft Office   Strong attention to detail in every area of work  Strong self-motivation with the ability to multitask  High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required – bachelor’s degree preferred   Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills  Superior time management skills while working independently and remotely   Professional interpersonal and communication skills.  Ability to interface and communicate with many levels of a customer’s project team including managers, engineers, superintendents, foremen, grade checkers, and operators  Strong computer skills are a necessity; ability and willingness to learn new software programs is required  Extensive math skills  Additional Information
