About the Role

Influences successful business outcomes in order to achieve key business and financial objectives for orders, revenue recognition, operating income and free cash flow for new and continuing programs. Provides business, contractual and risk mitigation strategy guidance. Protects the interest of the company by understanding and interpreting contractual terms and conditions. Utilizes working knowledge of regulations including Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), FAR supplements (e.g. DFARS) and other agency regulations. Analyzes significant and/or unique contract requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations and corporate policies and procedures. Manages the contractual review of solicitations, proposal development, contract change control process and overall contract administration. Establishes and maintains primary contractual interface with the customer. Maximizes cash through innovative contract formation and negotiation to achieve business objectives.

Primary Responsibilities

Responsible for RFP / RFQ review and risk assessment, proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contract activities for assigned contracts/programsProvides a proactive voice in the business processProvides proper contract guidance and ownership in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specificationsCoordinate the acceptance of new contracts/purchase orders, complete customer acknowledgements and prepare and conduct negotiations as requiredIdentify significant terms and conditions issues and resolve with senior contracts staffPerform or coordinate Order Entry tasks in ERP systemLiaise and correspond with Finance, banks, and customers with respect to letters of credit and guaranteesNegotiate, prepare and submit documents in compliance with the LOC/LOG requirementsAbility to think critically, problem solve and work independently, with a team player attitudeAbility to multi-task and determine priorities while working on multiple assignments, with a continuous improvement mindsetDedication to meet customer deadlines, with a high sense of urgency to respond to time-sensitive issuesAbility to negotiate contract terms and conditions with commercial and US Government customers, with an open and pragmatic mind, who is adaptable to change.Ability to clearly present information to broad audience, inclusive of management

Required Capabilities

Desired Education and Experiences 

Requires proficient knowledge of job area. May have practical knowledge of project management. Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.Requires proficient knowledge of job area.
