Job Title: Contracts Administrator
Job Description

Responsible for the ongoing administration of new and existing strategic construction project agreements. Work with the project team to ensure major contractors adhere to the contractual terms and conditions. Review change order requests, invoices, and document exchanges and coordinate approvals. Coordinate procurement activities as needed and funnel issues appropriately to legal resources.

ResponsibilitiesSupport contract activities including development, negotiation, amendment, and compliance as part of the project team.Collaborate with the internal team to determine and negotiate appropriate terms and conditions of contracts.Work closely with the Project Manager and team to review and manage both day-to-day tasks and strategic execution of project contracts.Proactively review and advise internal and Contractor team on contract provisions and requirements.Diligently follow up on multiple tactical processes such as project submittals, Change Order Requests, purchase orders, and invoices.Monitor progress and communicate next steps with the internal team and Contractor.Advise on and interpret contract requirements, obligations, and risks and investigate/follow-up on contract-related issues.Serve as an internal resource for contract questions and interpretation; advise on next steps allowed or required by the contract.Identify and analyze unique contractual relationships, coordinating strategy or problem-solving discussions when needed.Collaborate with Project Manager and Sourcing on Procurement Activities, including developing specifications, statements of work, and supplier performance metrics.Administer bids (RFI and RFP); support the development of evaluation criteria for bids and evaluate final submittals.Facilitate developing and negotiating final agreements.Manage contractually mandated processes to hold Contractors accountable and keep internal customers in compliance with contracts.Engage and educate the project team on compliance with the contract and the role of the project team throughout project execution.Essential SkillsThorough knowledge of contract administration processesExperience with PrimaveraExperience in construction project managementProficiency in developing and managing RFP processesAdditional Skills & Qualifications4-year college degree2-5 years of experience in contract administrationAbility to handle day-to-day tasks independentlyStrong negotiation and communication skillsWork Environment

The role requires being in the office 2 days per week in either Madison or Cedar Rapids, with the majority of days worked remotely. Standard working hours are 8-4 or 9-5 (40 hours per week). IT and hardware will be provided. The company is committed to renewable energy and has a plan to achieve net-zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2050, offering long-term work opportunities. The Project Controls team mostly consists of long-term contractors who are not micro-managed.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
