Contracts Manager (Nashville Hybrid or Remote)
**Overview** HarperCollins Christian Publishing, the world's largest Christian publisher, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manager of Contracts Administration to join our dynamic team. This key role will oversee the entire author contract lifecycle, from drafting and negotiation to final execution, for various publishing imprints. **Responsibilities** + Draft, negotiate, and finalize publishing agreements, including acquisition contracts, contributor agreements, work-for-hire contracts, and multi-book deals, ensuring alignment with both business objectives and legal standards. + Collaborate with publishers and editors to interpret contract terms, negotiate deal points, and address contract terminations. + Ensure all contracts comply with HarperCollins’ corporate policies and legal guidelines. + Provide support and guidance to team members as needed. + Undertake additional tasks as assigned to support departmental needs. **Qualifications** + A minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in a contracts department within a book publishing house or literary agency. + A Bachelor’s degree is required. + Strong understanding of legal contract principles and a deep familiarity with book publishing agreements, including their business and legal implications. + Knowledge of Christian publishing, including curriculum-related content, is a plus. + Proven track record of managing high-volume contracts and complex priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional accuracy and efficiency. + Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively negotiate and explain complex contract terms. + Ability to thrive under pressure, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines. + Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Adobe Professional.
