Contracts Specialist III

Position: Contacts Specialist III

Reports To: General Counsel II 

Location: Radford, Virginia - OR - Milwaukee, Wisconsin HQ

Job Summary:

The Contract Specialist III is responsible for providing contract and compliance support to the Motion Control Systems division of Regal Rexnord Corporation’s Automation and Motion Control segment.  The Motion Control Systems is a division of the company with global locations in the United States, Europe and APAC.  Motion Control Systems manufactures and sells precision motors and drives under the Kollmorgen brand.  Kollmorgen products serve a broad range of exciting industries, including Aerospace & Defense, Factory Automation, Robotics and Medical.

In partnership with the Segment General Counsel, Automation and Motion Control, this role will manage and oversee the contract lifecycle for Motion Control Systems, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and legal requirements. This role involves negotiating, drafting, reviewing, and administering contracts to support the organization’s objectives. The Contract Specialist III will work closely with various departments to ensure contracts are executed efficiently and effectively.

While the Contract Specialist III will directly support the Motion Control Systems business, this role will have strong connectivity to the Regal Rexnord corporate legal and compliance teams to promote thought partnership and to ensure strong functional support and alignment with Regal Rexnord’s organization-wide contract policies and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Contract Management: Oversee the entire contract lifecycle, from initiation to execution and renewal.

Negotiation: With support and oversight from the Segment General Counsel, Automation and Motion Control, lead contract negotiations with vendors, suppliers, and other third parties to secure favorable terms.

Drafting and Reviewing: Draft, review, and revise contracts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with legal and organizational standards.

Compliance: Ensure all contracts comply with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies, with a focus on government contract compliance (FAR/DFARS). Monitor regulatory developments and cascade relevant developments to stakeholders.  Support compliance processes and certifications related to government contracts.

Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with contracts.

Collaboration: Work closely with internal Motion Control Systems stakeholders, including legal, finance, and procurement teams, to ensure contract terms align with organizational goals.  Collaborate with stakeholders in other Regal Rexnord divisions to represent Motion Control Systems’ interests in cross-division contract negotiations.  In addition, the role will partner with Regal Rexnord Corporation’s corporate legal team to deploy segment- or organization-wide legal and compliance initiatives to the Motion Control Systems team.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all contracts and related documentation.

Training and Mentorship: Train Motion Control Systems stakeholders on key contract and compliance topics.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPCM, CFCM) is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in contract management, with a proven track record of handling complex contracts, preferably in Aerospace and Defense contracts.

Skills:

Strong negotiation and communication skills.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Strong business acumen and experience working in a global / multinational organization.

Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preference for experience managing contract repositories and other contract lifecycle management tools.

Continuous improvement mindset, with a preference for experience implementing process tools and improvements.

Working Conditions:

Location: Radford, Virginia or Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Environment: Office setting with occasional travel for meetings and negotiations.

Hours: Standard business hours with some flexibility required for deadlines and urgent matters.
