Description

Position Summary This position is responsible for safely and efficiently starting and regulating plant processing equipment. The Control Room Operator will run and monitor plant operations from a centralized location under the direction of the Plant Manager and Foreman.Hours: 12PM to 9PM M-Fr March-December             5AM to 3PM M-Th January-February.Texas QuarryCockeysville, MD 21030Responsibilities Starts, monitors, and regulates plant processing equipment within the company guidelines and safety standards Adjusts equipment programming to maximize productionGenerates work requests using maintenance planning programMaintains daily production reports and exchanges relevant information with others daily Monitors/Maintains load out area and operates mobile equipment as neededOperates other mobile and plant equipment, including skid steer, front end loader, etc. in a safe manner if neededConducts pre-shift equipment/plant inspections and completes required paperwork accuratelyAides in plant operation and repairs to plant equipmentMaintains housekeeping in areas of responsibilityAides in the training of co-workers as neededPerforms other duties as assigned by supervisorRequirementsMust be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated Will take an active role in the plant safety initiativesWilling to work overtime and weekends as neededWilling to cross-train in different areas of productionEducation & Experience High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this positionExperience in the building materials industry preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Able to work cooperatively with others toward a shared goal, contribute actively to the team efforts, and possess a positive attitude in working with others as a teamPossess effective coordination and communication skills Possess strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge and skillsAble to handle multiple projects simultaneously and to perform duties with minimal supervisionAble to work varying shifts as needed, outdoors, in varying weather conditionsAble to read and interpret gauges/dials and make competent decisions related to processing equipmentAble to work in areas where noise levels are up to 90 decibelsPossess basic computer skills & able to learn new software Able to adhere to MSHA guidelines and plant safety rules and regulationsAble to ensure a safe work environment by prioritizing safety, then quality, followed by productionAbout Martin MariettaMartin Marietta is an American-based company and a leading supplier of building materials - including aggregates, cement, ready mixed concrete and asphalt. The offered base hourly compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The posted range for this role represents the total reasonable pay range and does not solely represent a hiring range. Therefore, hiring at the top or maximum of the range should not be expected as it would not allow for salary growth opportunities in the role, would diminish promotion value, and may not align with internal equity.
