Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Control Systems Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing and implementing control systems within the Pharmaceutical and Biotech industries. You will be responsible for leading various projects, ensuring quality, and providing technical support to both colleagues and clients. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects and grow within a collaborative environment.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain a working knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including periodic updates.Peer-review the design work of colleagues to ensure project quality objectives are satisfied.Direct the design of control systems architectures to meet user requirements for communications, integration, data acquisition, and redundancy.Direct the development of project-related drawing and documentation packages such as wiring diagrams, control panels, interconnect diagrams, specifications, and manuals.Specify, program, test, and troubleshoot control systems and networks.Configure, program, test, and troubleshoot graphical user interfaces and data historians.Develop and execute project test protocols including FAT, SAT, and SIT.Prepare detailed design specifications.Lead interactive design reviews with clients and consulting engineers.Provide onsite support and service for local clients.Prepare recommendations to update or remediate existing control systems.Identify and vet new technologies, products, and services to reduce client costs or add value.Provide engineering support for system installation and commissioning.Provide technical support and training for less-senior colleagues.Essential Skills5-10+ years of experience as a control systems engineer.Experience with Rockwell or similar systems within the Pharmaceutical and/or Biotech industry.Demonstrated competence in four of the following performance domains: Control Panel Design, Control System Design, Instrumentation and Final Control Elements, Codes and Standards, Control System Software Development.Additional Skills & QualificationsCompleted undergraduate technical degree (Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering) from an accredited institution.Ability to translate control systems to automation language (Control Logix and Wonderware).Control systems engineering PE license (any state).Work Environment
Our team emphasizes a collaborative work environment with a beautiful office in El Cajon where in-person collaboration is encouraged. Team outings are organized once a month. The engineer will have complete oversight over projects, managing a team of 1-3 Junior Engineers. Most projects are local to San Diego, minimizing travel requirements. We value long-term employees who are interested in growing within their roles and contributing to our tenured team. An end-of-year bonus is provided, and while we may not offer the highest salaries in the industry, the opportunity to work on numerous projects and wear various hats is a significant benefit.

The pay range for this position is $52.00 - $67.00
