Job Description

Pay Rate: $115000 to $125000 per year.

Position Purpose: 

Provide day-to-day technical support for the operational control systems applications ( GeoSCADA, eOPS, etc.) used in water/wastewater treatment plants and remote facilities. Collaborate closely with the regulated utility Control System teams to ensure smooth system operation. Adhere to Control System standards, and development of performance metrics for overall system health and alarming, champion the implementation and maintenance of Utility SCADA standards and guidelines.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities: 

Technical Support and System Administration:Ensure System Reliability: Oversee the day-to-day monitoring and management of approximately 20 Utility SCADA applications (GeoSCADA), Operational Reporting (eOPS), and other applications as needed. Guarantee the availability, reliability, and performance of enterprise SCADA applications and their integration with local business unit SCADA instances.Proactive System Management: Implement proactive measures to identify and resolve potential issues before they impact operations. Perform regular system health checks, maintenance, backups, patching, software upgrades, and make necessary adjustments to maintain peak performance for GeoSCADA and other applications.Technical Expertise and Collaboration: Provide expert SCADA technical support to the regulated utility control system team. Directly interface with manufacturer technical support and collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve SCADA-related issues.Standardization and Compliance:Maintain SCADA Standards: Manage and uphold standards and templates to ensure consistency across all SCADA systems and applications. Collaborate with other teams to update and enhance standards to meet evolving industry requirements and best practices.Ensure Compliance: Enforce control system requirements that align with Veolia North America Utility National Standards and Guidelines.Performance Optimization and Reporting:Performance Monitoring and Analysis: Design and implement performance metrics to assess the overall health and efficiency of the SCADA system across Utility Business. Regularly review and analyze performance data to identify trends, optimize system efficiency, and recommend improvements.Proactive Alerting: Design and configure alarms to promptly detect and notify relevant teams of potential issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring operational continuity.Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for SCADA configurations, processes, and procedures. Generate regular reports on SCADA system performance, issues, and resolutions for management and regulatory purposes.Training and Development:Knowledge Sharing: Conduct training sessions to enhance the SCADA team's technical capabilities and efficiency, promoting a culture of continuous learning and development.Operational Reporting: Support the operational reporting strategy, including daily reporting and analytics, to provide insights into system performance and support decision-making.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background: 

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent degree or experience.5 - 7 years of experience in control system technology.Experience in Water and Wastewater plants and networks extremely helpful, but not required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

Hands-on experience with SCADA HMI and PLC software, including GeoSCADA, GE Proficy, Wonderware, and Rockwell FactoryTalk.Proven ability to program HMIs and PLCs.Strong understanding of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to effectively explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including technical staff, management, and clients.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels of an organization.Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.Adaptable to change and eager to learn about innovative process control and operational technologies.Experience with communication systems and networks , including radio, cellular, and TCP/IP networking.Knowledge of industrial cybersecurity principles and best practices.
