Control Systems Engineer
Indianapolis, IN (Hybrid working)
Rolls-Royce is looking for a Control Systems Engineer to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on flagship Rolls-Royce programs and play a vital role in solving some of the most complex and interesting technological challenges in the industry while being part of a global, multi-disciplinary team.
As a Control Systems Engineer, you will be part of a team developing and defining control system functions and interfaces. You will be responsible for ensuring technical outcomes are developed and delivered to appropriate standards and quality while collaborating with senior engineers and other teams. You will support full life cycle development and deliver robust technical solutions.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to travel up to 20% between Rolls-Royce sites and up to 10% other travel.

Key Accountabilities:
Collaborate with other teams and customers to develop electrical, electronics and mechatronics control system requirements, design and verification work products for safety critical applications as per ARP4754A and appropriate guidance within DO-178CWork with a cross-functional team to establish the highest standards of technical capability, quality, professionalism, and teamworkFollow process guidance, training and support document creationPrepare engineering work products and technical documentationResolve complex problems through the application of technical experience and knowledgeDevelop and communicate complex technical ideas and information in a concise and logical wayBasic Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering with 1+ years of product development engineering experience, ORMaster’s degree in in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering, ORPhD in degree in in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical or Computer EngineeringFamiliar with requirements managementIn order to be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. CitizenPreferred Requirements:
2+ years of product development engineering experienceFamiliar with application of agile development methods to deliver engineering work productsFamiliar with military qualification and/or FAA certification of airborne systemsFamiliar with gas turbine engine, propulsion, or electrical control systemsFamiliar with control system design and analysis toolsFamiliar with developing model-based systems with digital engineering toolsets (MATLAB, Simulink and/or similar)Familiar with systems engineering and robust design tools and techniques coupled with the latest model-centric development approachesFamiliar with Cameo Systems Modeler (MagicDraw) or similar SysML modelling softwarePioneer the next generation of innovation. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home, or another remote location. It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. As a minimum we’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.
