Job Description

The Control Systems Engineer position will develop new electro-mechanical motion control devices with sub-micron precision. This role will require the ability to architect and provide “turn-key” solutions to our customers. This position will provide guidance and technical support to customers, gather requirements, assess feasibility, and provide holistic system design input to the design team. Pre-sale support will be an essential part of this job, which will require this position to lead technical discussions in the conception phase of development. This position will be responsible for defining a motion system that meets customer expectations and design requirements.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop new electro-mechanical motion control devices with sub-micron precision.Architect and provide “turn-key” solutions to customers.Provide guidance and technical support to customers.Gather requirements, assess feasibility, and provide holistic system design input to the design team.Lead technical discussions during the conception phase of development.Define a motion system that meets customer expectations and design requirements.Determine motors, drives, and controllers that will meet specifications.Specify and design associated cables and circuitry to support system development.Tune, optimize, and validate systems to meet movement profiles on linear and rotary systems across a range of sizes and performance specifications.Essential SkillsPLC programmingAutomationControl systemsMotion controlMotors and drivesMechatronics5+ years’ experience with mechatronics systems5+ years’ experience with motion system design related to electro-mechanical assemblies5+ years’ experience with linear or rotary electro-mechanical actuatorsExperience working with customers and partners to gather system level requirementsExperience with design, development, and testing of electrical systems involving motors and circuit boardsExperience with signal processing, Fourier analysis, and controls theoryExpertise with Matlab, Scilab, or other system modeling softwareExpertise with one of the following controller brands: Beckhoff, ACS, Bosch, Delta TauAdditional Skills & Qualifications3D CAD experience is preferredExperience with Python, C++, C, or C#Work Environment

This is an onsite role. You will work alongside an Electrical Engineer, a Controls Technician, and a Mechanical Engineering team. The company currently has 85 employees, with a goal of expanding to 200 employees in the next 2-3 years. The work involves state-of-the-art technology.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $130000.00
