We are seeking a Controlled Environment Biologist with a bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, agronomy, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of various aspects of growing and maintaining plants, including weeds and crops. This role requires excellent observational skills, familiarity with plant needs, and the ability to recognize stress or unusual growth conditions. High diligence and accuracy are essential to achieve quality results safely. Flexibility and adaptability to team priorities are crucial, as is proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook, along with the ability to learn and use other computer databases and programs.
ResponsibilitiesPerform duties in a greenhouse environment such as seeding, watering, thinning of plants, and moving plants.Assist with spraying of plants.Follow commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a greenhouse environment.Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions safely.Report to a supervisor or manager.Lift up to 35 lbs.Manage exposure to dust, pollen, and work in elevated temperatures.Work extended hours on your feet, with possible weekend responsibilities.Essential SkillsBachelors degree in biology, chemistry, agronomy, or a related field.Knowledge of plant science, greenhouse operations, and plant care.Good observational skills and ability to recognize stress or unusual growth conditions.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.Ability to learn and use other computer databases and programs.Work Environment
