Controlled Environment Biologist Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Controlled Environment Biologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, agronomy, or a related field, and have a strong understanding of plant growth and maintenance, including crops and weeds. This role requires excellent observational skills, familiarity with plant needs, and the ability to recognize stress or unusual growth conditions. A high degree of diligence and accuracy is essential to achieve high-quality results in a safe and prudent manner. Responsibilities + Perform duties in a greenhouse environment such as seeding, watering, thinning of plants, moving of plants, and assisting with spraying of plants. + Utilize knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a greenhouse environment. + Follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions safely. + Report to a supervisor or manager. + Manage exposure to dust and pollen, and work in elevated temperatures. + Lift up to 35 lbs. + Work extended periods on your feet and possibly handle weekend responsibilities. Essential Skills + Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, agronomy, or a related field + Good observational skills + Familiarity with plant needs and ability to recognize stress or unusual growth conditions + Flexibility and adaptability to respond to team priorities + Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook + Ability to learn and use other computer databases and programs Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
