**Position Summary:** The Controller is accountable for the accounting functions and oversight of the plants’ financial operations. The Controller works closely with the General Manager to prepare budgets, forecasts, and to drive achievement to targets. Together with the General Manager, he or she keeps tight controls over cost center spend and supports continuous process improvements. The Controller is accountable for preparing financial statements in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). He or she maintains adequate accounting records, maintains a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the company’s financial results. The Controller will be a member of the Morbark executive team as well as a mentor for the accounting employees. The Controller will report to the General Manager and will maintain close collaboration with the Alamo Group finance organization. **Essential Functions of the Job:** Financial Reporting: + Prepare GAAP compliant month-end and year-end financial statements + Provide supplemental reporting information to corporate accounting + Collaborate with Division Controller in data and analysis requirements + Oversee chart of accounts, general ledger, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with GAAP + Ensure all balance sheet accounts and selected income statement accounts are reconciled monthly + Ensure regulatory compliance and financial data integrity and accuracy Budgeting and Forecasting: + Prepare annual budgets and presentations supporting Board approvals + Prepare monthly forecasts and analyze variances, risks, and opportunities + Establish and monitor performance metrics and KPIs for the organization Operational Performance: + Maintain cross-functional collaboration with the operations, sales, and marketing teams to provide insight and support decision making + Prepare labor and overhead rates for manufacturing cost accounting + Maintain tight control over cost and provide transparency to drive high operational efficiency + Manage net working capital including performance in receivables and inventory + Review all capital purchases and ensure proper accounting records + Identify and implement continuous improvement plans within the organization + Lead finance and non-finance teams or projects, as assigned Strategy: + Support the management with strategic analysis leading to timely and proactive decision making + Understand and analyze risks and opportunities for the company + Support mergers and acquisitions as necessary (financial due diligence, valuation, integration) Compliance + Serve as a compliance officer for the company, ensuring internal controls and safeguards for assets are effective + Manage operational data and ensure financial data integrity and accuracy + Coordinate all activities and information for annual audits + Maintain a documented system of accounting policies, procedures, and work instructions + Ensure proper training across cross-functional teams to instill compliance within the organization **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):** + Accounting and budgeting including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles + Advanced knowledge of major financial systems acumen such as JD Edwards, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or Oracle. JD Edwards One World knowledge a plus + Manufacturing industry cost accounting knowledge + Ability to multi-task and have the foresight to plan and delegate accordingly + Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills + Strong organizational and time management skills + Demonstrated ability to exhibit and model Alamo Group's Leadership Core Competencies: + **Leading Change / Change Management:** _Ability to drive improvement of team, division, and corporate goals and objectives through people.
