Controller

OBJECTIVE:
The Controller will manage and supervise all aspects of accounting. The Controller will handle high-level transactional and managerial accounting, and guide financial reporting activities of the producer farmers, including Invoicing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and General Ledger. The Controller will assume responsibility for the quality, accuracy and timeliness of financial information and reporting. Controller will assist the efforts to ensure that the systems, controls, and infrastructure are documented and in place to support a high growth service offering.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (other duties as assigned)

Develop, document, and maintain accounting policies and procedures. Manage all aspects of accounting, billing, cost accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, general ledger, financial statements, and various special analyses. Oversee payments of all accounts; ensuring all accounts are paid on time. Prepare, review, and analyze financial working papers and financial statements for financial close. Oversee all payments made for debts, bank loans, and other large quantities of money. Monitor cash and funding balances Effectively manages team by orienting and training team members. Leadership responsibilities also include delegation, coaching and performance management and career development to effectively execute departmental strategies and support company objectives. Supports and drives initiatives of continuous improvement within the organization. Prepare and organize financial statements for record and review. Keep an organized filing system of all accounts, statements, transactions, payments, and debts. Interface with external accountants, if necessary, to provide and prepare support as needed. Organize information and statements for external auditors. Define, benchmark, and implement operational best practices. Complying with all local, state, and federal laws regarding finances, tax filings, and reporting

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
Education:  
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field

Experience:
Ability to multi-task and prioritize with solid organizational skills.

Advanced experience and skillset working in Microsoft Excel.

Strong mathematical skills.

Self-starter and problem solver able to think logically in an organized manner.

Possession of strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work with a fast paced, progressive management team.

Ability to distill large amounts of data into a simpler format.  Simplification of complex information.

Work Environment:
Office setting (Pipestone, MN or Brandon, SD)

Additional Requirements:
Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to get to work.
Must be willing to attend early morning or evening meetings as needed. 
Must be willing to travel overnight to other Pipestone locations periodically.
