DOCS Health is looking for an experienced Controller to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).  Controller is responsible for implementing, documenting, and maintaining effective processes to improve the financial close and reporting process. Main responsibilities include month-end closing, financial and management reporting, maintaining general ledger and reconciling account balances, government agency reporting, managing annual audit and preparation of tax returns, among others. The ideal candidate also has experience of managing a team of Accountants and collaborating with other depts. to timely complete required tasks. 


Supervisory Responsibilities:

Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.Oversees training programs and identifies training needs.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance.Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.Files quarterly and annual reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission.Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.Manage timely month end close working with Accounting dept. members, summarizing variances in the P&L, and balance sheet account reconciliationsPrepare various management reports to show P&L’s by Line of Business, office locations and other criteria as required by managementManage recording of daily banking data, billing and vendor invoices to keep track of costs and profitability during the monthEnsure timely collection of receivables and better management of working capitalProvide requested schedules and work with external auditors and tax return preparers for timely completion of annual audits and tax returnsReview and recommend modifications to accounting and other systems, processes and procedures Develop and document accounting policies and business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controlsTrain and mentor Accounting staff members in Billing and Collection, Payroll, AP and General AccountingPerforms special projects as required by the managementPerforms other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent management and supervisory skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.


Requirements

 Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.Ten years or more of related experience required.Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Experience in managing year-end annual audits and tax return preparations along with reporting to government agenciesDetailed oriented and proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel including Vlook-ups and pivot tablesThorough experience with ERP systems, SAP is preferredUsed to working under tight deadlines

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.Able to travel as needed.
