We are searching for a talented and self-motivated Controller to help us create the future of flight. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following: Responsibilities • Manages and develops employees and first-level managers performing the activities of gathering, analyzing, interpreting, preparing and reconciling financial information according to Boeing and regulatory accounting policies and procedures. • Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, systems improvements, and processes. • Responsible for managing month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting closes. • Provides expert knowledge of internal controls and processes to ensure system integrity and compliance with accounting system requirements and company internal control guidelines and requirements. Ability to identify and resolve accounting system issues. Ability to support internal/external auditors and provide assistance regarding implementation and problem resolution. Ability to support development and deployment of accounting systems and tools. Champions use of technology, automation, and data analytics. • Lead interaction with government compliance agencies for accounting related issues including compliance with Company disclosure statement, provisional rate and incurred cost submission, and contract close-outs. • Safeguard assets and assures accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits; controls, monitors, and enforces disciplines across all departments. Provides information to internal and external auditors, if applicable. • Engages with FP&A and Program Finance to prepare budgets and schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans. Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions. • Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data. • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements and is current on new and existing legislation; anticipates future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions. • Provides a visionary and leadership implementation role on behalf of Accounting and Finance to all departments, creating a well-respected and best in class department. Minimum Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or related field • Minimum of 8 years accounting experience • Personnel Management and/or Team Lead Experience • Knowledgeable on Aurora Flight Science’s accounting system, processes and procedures • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills • Must be a U.S. Person Preferred Requirements • MBA/CPA desired • Previous audit experience • Excellent organizational, time management, and process management skills as well as keen attention to detail • Proven interpersonal skills and experience building strong relationships with candidates and internal business partners • Ability to work effectively and efficiently, both independently and with collaborative teams across all Aurora locations • Self-starter with a track record of producing results that exceed business goals and objectives • Ability to work in a rapidly growing environment with the ability to handle competing tasks and changing priorities Physical Requirements In Manassas, Virginia (Hybrid) or Virtual. Minimum Travel Required to Manassas, VA approximately once per quarter.
