Description We are searching for a meticulous and experienced Controller to join our team in the manufacturing industry based in Charlotte, North Carolina. As a Controller, you will be tasked with managing daily accounting activities, improving accounting processes, and supervising a small accounting staff. This role offers an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in our financial management, contributing to our company's overall financial goals and objectives. Responsibilities: • Oversee and manage daily accounting activities ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial records • Provide support and guidance to the accounting staff, fostering an environment of learning and growth • Collaborate with accounting and operations departments to improve accounting processes and procedures • Identify and implement strategies for efficiency enhancement and cost reduction within the accounting department • Maintain the company’s general ledger and ensure the accuracy of postings • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting • Support the execution of annual audits to ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards • Monitor and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets • Leverage strong computer knowledge and ERP system experience to enhance accounting operations • Utilize skills in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, Bank Reconciliations, Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation, and Month End Close processes. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management • Demonstrable experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne software • Knowledge and experience in conducting bank reconciliations • Experience in balance sheet account reconciliation • Ability to manage month end close processes • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Proven leadership abilities and experience in managing a team • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is an asset.
