Controller
Description We are seeking a Controller to join our client's team in FREDERICK, Maryland, in the manufacturing industry. In this role, you will play a key part in the financial operations of the company, including the creation of financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and implementation of controls to mitigate risk and ensure the accuracy of our financial results. Responsibilities: • Establish, direct, and maintain financial accounting practices and procedures, internal controls, and management reporting systems • Develop organizational procedures, systems, and controls to ensure the accuracy of company inventories and assets • Oversee daily operations of the US Finance and Accounting function with hands-on leadership • Ensure timely and accurate financial closing on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis • Prepare and report on regular reconciliations of the balance sheet and all related sub-ledgers • Analyze financial data and transactions to identify and resolve any errors • Serve as cross-functional lead for enterprise-wide accounting initiatives Requirements • 10+ years of experience • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and manufactured products is necessary. • Strong leadership skills to manage and coordinate financial operations effectively. • Excellent communication skills to relay financial information to non-financial colleagues. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA) is preferred. • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
