Description In the wake of new investment from a PE firm in early 2024, my client is seeking a capable Plant Controller / Corporate Controller to join their team. In collaboration with the CFO, you will take the lead in developing a robust financial infrastructure inclusive of processes, policies, procedures, systems, and staff necessary to bolster our rapidly growing business. This is a tremendous opportunity work closely with a C-Suite that has a history of growing consumer product good organizations and taking them through a transaction. Responsibilities: • Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records. • Perform variance analysis and provide insightful explanations on financial performance. • Guarantee accurate and timely financial reporting in line with company policies and accounting standards. • Develop and maintain precise and up-to-date bills of materials and product costs. • Manage inventory levels, assess inventory valuations, and ensure accurate inventory reporting. • Work alongside the CFO and third-party auditors to facilitate the annual financial audit process, annual bank audits, or any other audits, and address any findings proactively. • Help the CFO and Plant Management with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling. • Review financial performance regularly, identify areas of improvement and opportunities for cost saving. • Collaboratively develop and implement strategic plans and operational initiatives with plant management. • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and internal controls. Requirements Skills/Qualifications: • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a CPA or CMA certification is preferred. • At least 5 years of relevant experience in a financial controller role, within the manufacturing industry. • Experience in managing Adequate Inventory and familiarity with Cost of Goods Sold (COGS). • Ability to implement and maintain strict financial controls and procedures. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses. • Exceptional negotiation skills with the ability to establish good relationships with vendors. • Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting. • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. • Strong leadership and communication abilities with a knack for effective cross-departmental collaboration. • Meticulous attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy in financial reporting Please apply directly to this post or if you have questions contact Lee Chernett, VP at Robert Half Finance & Accounting, via LinkedIn or by calling 571.297.9074.
