Controller
Description We are looking for a Controller to join our team based in Olathe, Kansas. This role will involve performing a range of duties related to financial statement variance analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, and budget monitoring. The successful candidate will also play a key role in coordinating annual audits and tax preparation, and providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making. Responsibilities: • Conduct regular budget performance monitoring and provide updates and variance analysis to senior management. • Coordinate the annual audit and tax preparation processes to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. • Manage monthly balance sheet account reconciliation and resolve variances in a timely manner. • Identify financial statement variances and trends, review general ledger activity, and provide variance explanations and input to management. • Maintain and update the organization’s financial policies and procedures. • Assist in the development of long-term department plans and strategies. • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls. • Provide support for special projects, system implementations, and process improvements. • Collaborate with the senior leadership team to provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making. • Perform other duties as assigned. Skills: • Experience in Auditing and Budget Processes. Requirements • Possess a minimum of five years of experience in a Controller role or similar position • Demonstrable expertise in Auditing processes and procedures • Proficiency in Budget Processes, including planning, forecasting, and analysis • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is required; Master’s degree or CPA certification is preferred • Excellent comprehension of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) • Proficient in financial software systems and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel • Exceptional leadership abilities, with experience managing a team • Strong analytical and strategic planning skills • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written • High attention to detail and accuracy in all work • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly • Adaptable and capable of multitasking under tight deadlines • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
