Description Job Description: Controller Location: The Woodlands, Texas Industry: Financial Services Position Type: Full-Time, In-Office About the Company: Our client, a rapidly growing financial services company based in The Woodlands, Texas, is part of a larger organization. Position Overview: The Controller will play a critical role in overseeing both accounting and financial reporting functions. This is a hands-on position that requires a strong background in financial services or real estate. The ideal candidate will be a CPA or have passed parts of the CPA exam and be actively pursuing certification. Key Responsibilities: + Financial Statement Preparation: Lead the full preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards. + Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop, manage, and refine budgeting and forecasting processes to support the company's financial goals. + Banking & Funding Relationships: Manage and nurture banking and funding relationships, ensuring optimal financial operations and support for growth initiatives. + Accounting Operations: Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. + Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations based on financial data. + Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and internal controls, and support external audits as necessary. Requirements Qualifications: + CPA designation or actively pursuing certification (having passed some parts of the CPA exam). + Background in financial services or real estate is required. + Proven experience in financial statement preparation, budgeting, forecasting, and managing banking relationships. + Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. + Excellent communication and leadership skills. + Ability to work in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
