Description We are in search of a hands-on Controller based in East Hampton, Connecticut. As a pivotal part of our team, your role will involve overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. Responsibilities: • Oversee the accurate and timely preparation of accounts receivable progress billings in accordance with specific contract terms • Monitor daily cash balances to ensure financial requirements are met and prepare monthly bank reconciliations • Manage the preparation of weekly payroll for both union and non-union employees, ensuring timely submission of monthly union reports, quarterly and annual reporting, and compliance • Oversee the processing of all Accounts Payable invoices which includes entry, matching, and payments • Initiate the payment process to vendors and subcontractors, ensuring lien waivers are properly collected • Review financial statements with ownership and assist in the development of financial forecasts • Handle IT related issues and perform special assignments as directed • Prepare and review monthly financial statements, and review job cost reports with project managers • Assist in the development, implementation and administration of the company's 401(k) plan and other employee benefits • Meet with the company’s bankers and bonding company to review financial results and forecasts as needed Requirements • Demonstrated proficiency in Accounting Functions • Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) • Proficiency in Auditing processes • Understanding and experience in Budget Processes • Experience in Construction Accounting is preferred • Knowledge of Project Accounting is a plus • Ability to handle Month End Close responsibilities • Capable of managing and executing Forecasting tasks • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint • Experience in using accounting software and systems Please send resumes directly to Chelsea Halon - chelsea.halon@roberthalf com Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
