Description We are seeking a Controller to join our team in Sacramento, California. This role involves managing the financial operations of a nonprofit organization, ensuring accuracy in bookkeeping, compliance with regulations, and effective budgeting. As a Controller, you will be instrumental in establishing internal controls, overseeing the financial aspects of grants, and supervising the accounting staff. Responsibilities • Oversee and ensure the accurate preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to provide insights into the organization's financial health • Manage accounting functions including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and maintaining the general ledger • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, as well as donor requirements, including managing audits and filing necessary tax forms • Collaborate with program directors to create and monitor budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals • Establish and maintain internal control systems to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting • Oversee the financial aspects of grants, including budgeting, tracking expenditures, and reporting to funders • Provide analysis to support decision-making, identifying trends and variances in financial performance • Supervise accounting staff, providing guidance and training as needed • Operate various accounting software systems and CRM for effective financial management • Handle customer credit applications and maintain accurate customer credit records Requirements CPA Highly preferred Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
