Controller
Description Robert Half is on the lookout for a Controller to join our client's thriving real estate development company. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of financial management, including commercial real estate accounting, project accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, and budget and forecasts preparations. Comp up to $120k! Key Responsibilities: + Oversee all General Ledger functions including but not limited to, the month-end close process, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis. + Perform thorough CAM reconciliations and handle tenant inquiries concerning CAM charges. + Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements ensuring accuracy and compliance. + Manage project accounting, including construction draws and project cost reconciliations. + Develop financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, staffing requirements, and creating financial models. + Oversee all financial, project and grants accounting; ensure that expenditures are consistently aligned with budgets across the portfolio of projects. + Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report, financial audits, and tax filings. + Maintain a system of controls over all transactions to minimize risks. + Lead and manage the in-house accounting team. + Facilitate and execute annual budget processes. Requirements Qualifications: + Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field (MBA or CPA preferred) + 10+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience in the real estate development industry. + Strong knowledge of CAM reconciliations and GAAP principles. + Experience with project accounting and construction draws. + Proven working experience as a Controller or a similar role. + Possess strong organizational and leadership skills. + Proficient in MS Office Suite and accounting software packages.
