Description We are in search of a Controller to join a growing team based in Sedalia, Missouri. This role is set within the construction industry. The successful candidate will oversee all company accounts, month end close, create financial statements, and coordinate with the management team on financial matters. Ideally, someone with an understanding of construction would be highly desirable, but we are open to other backgrounds of experience that would match nicely with construction. Please reach out today to Molly Gardner at 816-601-1196 Responsibilities: • Oversee and manage all company accounts and investments. • Prepare and maintain monthly job cost, WIP, and percent of completion reports. • Produce monthly and quarterly financial statements, including cash-, profit/loss-, and balance sheets. • Develop and document business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls. • Coordinate with the management team on financial growth plans, budget, costs, and financial forecasts. • Supervise and manage all aspects of daily accounting activities, including but not limited to Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), payroll, job cost accounting, and general ledger. • Utilize construction software to manage and oversee the financial statements. • Ensure all financial operations comply with federal and state laws. • Coordinate with external financial entities, including banks, auditors, tax consultants, etc. • Implement and utilize various accounting functions to maintain accurate records and process customer credit applications. Requirements • Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting • Proficiency in handling Accounting Functions is mandatory • Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is required • Prior experience in Auditing is essential, but not required • Familiarity with Budget Processes is necessary • Experience in the Construction industry will be beneficial • Understanding of Construction Accounting is highly desirable • Ability to conduct Month End Close activities is necessary • Proficiency in preparing Financial Statements is required • Understanding of Internal Control procedures is important • Knowledge of US GAAP is required • Familiarity with percentage (%) of completion accounting methodology is required • Experience in handling WIP - Work In Progress is beneficial • Knowledge of Job Cost accounting is necessary Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
