We are currently seeking a Controller to join our team in South Bay/Torrance Area California. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of our logistics client, located in the Torrance area. You will lead a team of 8+ individuals, working closely with the leadership team to ensure the financial health and success of the organization. Responsibilities: + Oversee the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements. + Direct Finance Manager and department operations, providing guidance and support as needed. + Implement policies and procedures for financial reporting, ensuring consistency and transparency. + Review financial statements to assess the corporation’s financial health and make strategic recommendations. + Manage the month-end closing process, ensuring all balance sheet accounts are reconciled in a timely manner. + Monitor Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and all assets and liabilities, identifying areas for improvement and optimization. + Collaborate with the leadership team to identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiency. + Maintain adequate accounting systems access controls and internal controls, safeguarding confidential information. Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification preferred. + 5+ years of experience in financial management, with demonstrated leadership skills. + Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements. + Experience working in the logistics industry preferred. + Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
