Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity in Waltham, Massachusetts, for a Controller in the Health Pharm/Biotech industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks including month-end close, payroll, internal control review, audit support, SEC Reporting review, and Tax preparation. Responsibilities: • Overseeing the month-end close activities ensuring accurate and timely completion. • Managing all aspects of payroll processing and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and internal policies. • Conducting internal control reviews to identify potential risks and implementing remedial actions. • Providing support during audits, coordinating with auditors to ensure efficient audit process. • Reviewing SEC Reporting to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. • Preparing tax documents and ensuring timely submission of tax returns. • Managing the accounting functions of the organization, ensuring accurate record keeping and reporting. • Overseeing the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate payment and collection. • Implementing and managing budget processes to ensure effective financial planning and control. • Conducting regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulations and standards. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Functions to manage and oversee all financial transactions • Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) to ensure timely and accurate financial operations • Comprehensive knowledge of Auditing procedures to ensure financial compliance and integrity • Experience with Budget Processes to assist in financial planning and forecasting • Familiarity with Month-end Close Activities to ensure timely financial reporting • Proficiency in SEC Reporting to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements • Ability to conduct Internal Control Reviews to identify areas for improvement and increased efficiency • Experience in managing Payroll operations to ensure accurate and timely compensation for employees • Knowledge of Audit practices to ensure internal and external compliance with financial standards.
