Description
We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Controller in the construction industry, based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a Controller, you will play a pivotal role in managing job costs, billing, and ensuring profitability. You will also be tasked with executing detailed and strategic accounting functions, utilizing your expertise in Excel and Sage 100 (helpful to have experience, but not necessary).
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the processing and management of accounts payable and receivable
• Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and adherence to financial regulations
• Implement and manage budget processes, ensuring cost-effectiveness and profitability
• Conduct month-end close procedures and prepare financial reports
• Monitor and forecast cash flow to optimize financial operations
• Utilize Excel and Sage 100 to manage and analyze financial data
• Ensure accurate job costing and manage billing processes in line with company procedures
• Develop and implement strategic financial plans to drive business growth
• Maintain and update customer credit records, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Resolve customer inquiries related to financial matters promptly and professionally.
Requirements • Must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller role or similar position
• Proficiency in Accounting Functions is required
• Familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes
• Proven experience in Auditing
• Understanding of Budget Processes
• Knowledge of Construction sector is desirable
• Experience in Month End Close process
• Ability to create and manage Cash Flow Forecasts
• Proficiency in Billing procedures
• Must hold a professional qualification in Accounting or related field
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
• Must be legally eligible to work in the hiring country.
