Controller
Reporting directly to the Division Controller with dotted line responsibility to two General Managers, this position coordinates, administers and controls financial operations for two business units with $100M combined revenue from the Idaho Falls, ID facility.
The ideal person works across the organization as a business partner to review, analyze and interpret financial performance and trends. Leads a Finance team committed to excellence in Business Planning, Analysis, Compliance and Accounting operations. Exhibits high level of skill in financial modeling. Oversees the development of financial systems and procedures required to execute financial reporting / accounting requirements and maintain controls. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure sound operation of the department. Evaluates Customer Proposals and makes recommendations regarding business and strategic worthiness to proceed. Provides tax, insurance and other reports required by governmental regulations, audit agencies and corporate governance. Possesses demonstrated strengths in the roles required in a highly effective leader at Curtiss-Wright. Has the ability to travel occasionally as warranted to other BU facilities.

Your Challenge:
Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory or governmental requirements such as Sarbanes-Oxley and Corporate policies and procedures. Be attuned to early warnings of financial control gaps and be able to proactively implement action plans to swiftly remedy.
Develop Nuclear Division-wide consistent processes and systems in the functional areas of Financial Reporting / Analysis and Cost Accounting / Compliance with the input of business leaders, all while being a liaison with each BU, and Corporate Shared Services.
Provide counsel and advice to business units and management in developing objectives, strategies and tactics from a financial and accounting perspective.
Participate in senior management team meetings to review financial performance against objectives and targets; develop strategies to overcome obstacles to growth and performance.
Encourage ideas and creative approaches for continuous improvement, challenging the norm.
Stay informed regarding potential liabilities faced by the company on all fronts and work with the senior management team to mitigate these. Recognize early signs of financial problems and be able to provide suggestions on decisive action to address or prevent these problems.
Partners with Business Development, Operations, Quality, HR and Program Management leaders to provide guidance in relation to financial goals and strategies, and to mutually seek efficiency through standardize systems and processes.
Provide ERP system oversight and support on financial modules to ensure proper accounting across business activities and multiple business units.
Prepare and present annual and long-range budgets, monthly forecasts and cash flow projections to guide the financial management of the company.
Oversee preparation and timely filing of financial reporting for governmental and multiple audit agencies as well as corporate requirements.
Provide training and guidance to finance staff and non-financial persons across the business
Partner with General Managers, including assisting GM’s with understanding financials and providing guidance.
What You Bring:
Bachelor's degree in a financial management discipline (Accounting, Finance)
Certification in a recognized professional designation or MBA is a plus
10+ years diverse financial experience in various finance / accounting roles; practical experience within a large equipment manufacturing environment
5+ years in a hands-on management position
Knowledge of Syteline, Adaptive, and/or OneStream is preferred (or similar programs)
Understanding of Long-Term Contracts, ASC-606, Sarbanes-Oxley, Cost Accounting Standards and Federal Acquisition Rules
Strength of character, with the ability to take clear, decisive action in steering the company's worth and safeguard values
A history of active involvement and success beyond the traditional responsibilities of financial reporting
