Opportunity: Interim Controller Location: Bridgeview, IL (On Site 4 days a week) Pay Rate: $55-75/hr W2 (negotiable depending on experience) Duration: 6 months or longer starting ASAP Jefferson Wells is seeking an experienced Interim Controller Consultant for our client in Bridgeview, IL . The ideal candidate will possess expertise in controllership within a manufacturing and distribution environment. This position will be responsible for various accounting and finance tasks including month-end close, account analysis, reconciliations, journal entries, cost accounting, and business process improvement. Responsibilities: Address accounting and finance process challenges, implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Lead month-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. Perform detailed account analysis and reconciliations to ensure integrity of financial data. Prepare and post journal entries as needed to accurately reflect financial transactions. Utilize expertise in cost accounting principles to analyze and report on manufacturing and distribution costs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for business process improvement. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or MBA preferred. Proven experience (5+ years) as a Controller or similar role in a manufacturing and distribution environment. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements. Experience with month-end close processes, account analysis, reconciliations, and journal entries. Experience with Epicor is highly preferred Ability to analyze and interpret financial data to drive informed business decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and problem-solving.
