Description We are in search of a Controller to join our team in the Real Estate & Property industry, located in Birmingham, Michigan. The Controller will be responsible for the financial operations of the firm, taking charge of the accounting department and ensuring the accuracy and compliance of the company's financial results.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage the firm's accounting operations, specifically catering to commercial property management
• Prepare, review, and present monthly financial statements and management reports as required
• Ensure the maintenance of internal control safeguards and coordinate the execution of controls and budgets
• Liaise with external auditors and oversee the preparation and support of all external audits
• Work closely with operations to define, measure, analyze, and improve key performance indicators
• Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures
• Communicate financial metrics and business drivers to stakeholders effectively
• Utilize QuickBooks for various accounting activities, such as invoicing, tracking expenses, and managing cash-flow
• Maintain accurate accounting records and systems, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards. Requirements • Proficient in Auditing, with a focus on real estate and property management.
• Demonstrated experience in Budget Processes, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
• Ability to efficiently manage Month End Close procedures in a timely and accurate manner.
• Expertise in Year End Closings, ensuring all financial data is correctly reconciled and reported.
• Strong skills in Budgeting and Forecasting, with the ability to make accurate financial predictions for the company.
• Capability to create and manage Cash Flow Forecasts, helping to ensure the company's financial stability.
• Experience in Commercial Property Management, including overseeing operations, managing tenants, and ensuring property maintenance.
• Proficiency in using Quickbooks Online for various financial operations.
• Knowledge of Skyline software for property management and real estate operations.
