Our client in the Mississauga area is recruiting a Controller to support the Finance Director with the overall operation of the Accounting function.\r\n

The role of the Controller encompasses month end close, reporting and analysis, managing audits and compliance requirements and assisting with the budgeting and forecasting tasks.\r\n

Detailed responsibilities include:\r\nEnsure appropriate and effective controls are in place and complete all control testing on a rolling schedule.\r\nLead the internal and external audit for the company.\r\nResponsible for all statutory reporting requirements.\r\nReviewing of completed work by shared services group and ensure deliverables are completed on time.\r\nEnsure the Finance team works in a productive environment with high levels of communication and transparency.\r\nPerform non-routine, complex accounting assignments involving the application of generally accepted accounting practices and requiring highly developed analytical skills and business acumen.\r\nActively seek feedback from internal and external stakeholders, implement process improvements.\r\nEnsure that the goals set out on the Finance lean scorecard are monitored and specific action is taken to improve performance.\r\nParticipate in the preparation and review of quarterly forecasts and yearly budgets as well as the related analyses and reports.\r\nCoordinate the preparation, consolidation and analysis of financial statements, reports and performance estimates for the business unit within established deadlines, ensure all checklists are updated and utilized.\r\nInterpret financial reports for management comparing actual versus projected results and explaining variances.\r\nPrepare financial and economic analysis projects and interpret results as required.\r\nUndertake special analytical studies such as the identification of trends or the evaluation of current control systems.\r\nEnsure all account reconciliations are completed and reviewing of key accounts, analysis is detailed and actions taken as needed prior to end of the month.\r\nEnsure all tax related matters are completed, utilize third party experts as needed.\r\nCoordinate accounting matters with other departments, locations and divisions.\r\nOther duties as required.\r\n\r\n
