Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller, located in Maitland, Florida. This role primarily involves working in an office environment, handling financial procedures and maintaining accurate records.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct precise bank reconciliations on a monthly basis
• Ensure the accurate and efficient execution of journal entries for monthly financials and the fiscal year
• Oversee the preparation of the annual budget and cash flow projection
• Undertake the annual functional expense allocation for audit and 990 filing
• Ensure the maintenance of annual audit schedules for grants payable, prepaid, and fixed assets
• Review and approve invoices ensuring proper backup and correct account coding
• Supervise and give approval for all deposits
• Handle file management including filing, copying, and scanning of all accounting backup
• Attend quarterly board meetings when required
Requirements
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a financial management role, preferably in the legal industry.
• Proven proficiency in auditing, with a keen eye for details and discrepancies.
• Strong expertise in budget processes, including planning, analysis, and forecasting.
• Experience in annual financial reporting, with an emphasis on accuracy and compliance.
• A detail-oriented certification such as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic orientation.
• Highly proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels within the organization.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
• Knowledge of legal industry regulations and standards.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
