Description
Legacy Parking is a rapidly growing Parking Asset Management company looking to add a new member to our corporate team in Chicago!
The Controller is responsible for the financial and accounting operations of the company and works in close partnership with the VP of Finance and Accounting, CEO/President and other senior management team members. This position will direct the development of a financial strategy, creation and monitoring of associated strategic metrics, production of financial and management reporting, maintenance of finance and accounting master data and the design and execution of comprehensive controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with general accepted accounting principles. This role reports to the President and CEO and has a team of 4.5 direct reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Lead the month-end closing process including; revenue reconciliation, sales tax, expenses, payables and receivables, capital assets, lease payments, monthly financial statements for each location and reporting packages.
+ Ensure monthly bank reconciliations for all revenue categories (transient, contract parker, miscellaneous, etc.) to the GL and sub systems is complete and accurate.
+ Prepare and analyze the company’s financial statements including the income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement.
+ Proactively highlight opportunities for process improvements, automation and standardization.
+ Partner with external auditors to facilitate annual review as well as review and implement annual findings
+ Maintains relationship with financial institutions by reviewing of bank account agreements, banking structure, future lines of credit and other covenants.
+ Maintain finance master data in software system (e.g., chart of accounts, vendor listings, property locations, etc.)
+ Responsible for ensuring the completion of the annual 1099 filing and federal, state and municipal tax filing requirements.
+ Manage the overall company planning and forecasting process
+ Assist with the development and monitoring of business performance metrics.
+ Assist with creating internal controls, policies and procedures.
Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Assists with the design and delivery of customized reports and financial analysis as requested by either the location manager, senior management or the client.
+ Other special projects as assigned by the CEO/President and other senior management team members.
