Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller in Los Gatos, California. As a Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of our organization. Your responsibilities will range from overseeing the preparation of financial statements to managing the accounting team and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team to foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.
• Oversee the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Manage the accounting and financial reporting for all grants and contracts, ensuring compliance with funding requirements.
• Coordinate and oversee annual audits and implement recommendations.
• Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard the organization's assets.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of financial strategies and provide financial insights and recommendations to support organizational decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including tax filings and audits.
• Assist in the development and management of the annual budget and long-term financial plans.
• Manage the accounting team, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
• Monitor and manage cash flow, financial planning, and analysis.
• Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures.
• Monitor grant and contract budgets, expenditures, and reimbursements to ensure accurate financial tracking.
• Work closely with program managers to provide financial guidance on grant and contract-related matters. Requirements • Candidate must possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in a Controller role or similar capacity.
• Proficiency in using 3M is crucial for the role.
• Familiarity with various Accounting Software Systems is a necessary requirement.
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in CRM is required for this role.
• Knowledge of Crystal Reports is important.
• Expertise in Accounting Functions is a key requirement for this position.
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) is necessary.
• Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR) is required.
• Familiarity with Auditing processes is crucial.
• Experience in Budget Processes is a significant requirement for this role.
