Job Description Were seeking an experienced Controller to work on site in Nashville and oversee the companys financial operations. The Controller will function under the direction of both the Chief Financial Officer and the business owner. This position is responsible for overseeing the accounting department and directing the financial plans of the business by providing financial analysis, planning, and reporting to help inform strategic decision-making and ensure the businesss financial health. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Overseeing the organizations financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, lease billing and payroll. 2. Develop and maintain accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure that the businesss accounting records, and financial statements are accurate and timely. 3. Establish and monitor internal controls to mitigate risks and prevent fraud. 4. Prepare balance sheet for various business units and ensure effectiveness of the process. 5. Supervise account reconciliation, manage commercial accounts, and update journal units. 6. Review all financial operating processes to ensure compliance with GAAP. 7. Oversee month-end, quarterly and annual closing of accounts. 8. Manage the organizations financial resources, including budgeting and forecasting. 9. Manage cash flow and ensure the business is making sound financial decisions. 10. Develop and implement financial planning and budgeting processes to support the overall goals and objectives of the business. 11. Analyze and interpret financial data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement. 12. Establish and maintain financial reports and business plans. 13. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with government regulatory reporting and tax filings. 14. Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial professionals. 15. Coordinates the provision of information to external auditors. 16. Provides financial analysis on capital investments, pricing decisions and contract negotiations. 17. Prepare management reports and external filings, audits, etc. 18. Ensure compliance to all tax procedures and process tax returns. 19. Skills and Requirements 5 + years of experience as a Controller/ Senior Accountant Experience with Yardi Proficient with QuickBooks Bachelors degree in finance or accounting. ·Masters degree in finance or accounting preferred.
