Description
Lisa Cole with Robert Half is offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced Controller to the team of an established company in the Sacramento area. The Controller will oversee an accounting team and is responsible for the creation of financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and implementation of controls and budgets to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results. Key Responsibilities:
+ Oversee all accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and General Ledger.
+ Lead month-end and year-end financial closings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
+ Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts, providing insights to guide decision-making.
+ Manage and maintain inventory accounting, cost accounting, and other agriculture-specific financial processes.
+ Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
+ Provide leadership in cash flow management, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
+ Supervise and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
+ Coordinate audits (internal, external, and regulatory) and prepare necessary documentation.
+ Drive process improvements and implement effective financial controls to increase efficiency.
+ Collaborate with operations, production, and supply chain teams to optimize profitability.
Requirements
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
+ 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller role.
+ Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, and financial reporting in the agriculture or manufacturing industry.
+ Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Dynamics 365, NetSuite, or SAP) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
+ Hands-on experience with multi-entity accounting and complex reconciliations.
+ Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work across departments.
+ Detail-oriented and highly organized with a strong ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
