Description We are seeking a Strategic Controller to join the exciting startup PE backed client based just south of Franklin, Tennessee. the Controller will play a crucial role in scaling the organization by producing accurate and timely financial statements and automating key financial processes. You will be expected to engage in tasks such as planning, forecasting, budgeting and reporting on financial results for the CEO. Responsibilities: You will oversee all facets of accounting, tax and financial analysis, ensuring compliance and strategic insight into operations. Success in this role is dependent on leadership, organization/people development, attention to detail, process improvement, strategic execution, ability to deal with a rapidly changing business environment and communication while executing across a number of critical priorities. The controller will need to collaborate with all areas of the business – understanding the end-to-end operations and working to consistently monitor and create financial success. Requirements + CPA strongly preferred with 7+ years related experience in progressive roles within public accounting (preferably reaching Manager at a Big 4 firm or equivalent regional firm) and/or private industry, and including full-cycle accounting and monthly close process management, including preparation of financial statements. + Capable of leading large projects, such as implementation of accounting software, and working with teams to accomplish cross-functional results + Exposure to D2C, SaaS and/or recurring revenue preferred, along with the metrics for such businesses. + Ideal candidate has experience with Sage accounting software. Expertise in office productivity software).
