Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Controller in Brea, California. As a Controller, you will primarily be tasked with conducting financial analysis, orchestrating monthly close activities, creating and maintaining fixed asset ledgers, assisting in budget and forecast preparation, and managing cash and Treasury functions. Additionally, your role will involve migrating legacy data into a new ERP system.
Responsibilities:
• Perform financial analysis to guide business decisions
• Conduct mid-month and flash reports for timely updates
• Execute monthly close activities, including account reconciliations and preparation of financial statements
• Prepare and maintain fixed asset ledgers and track expenditures for capital projects
• Assist in the preparation of budget and forecast, and perform monthly variances analysis of actual to budget results
• Manage cash and Treasury functions on a daily, monthly, and as-needed basis
• Migrate legacy data into the new ERP system for streamlined operations
• Ensure the accurate processing of customer credit applications
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate customer credit records
• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action as required Requirements • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller role or similar position
• Proficiency in Month End Close procedures
• Demonstrated expertise in preparing Audit Schedules
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field preferred
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
• Strong leadership abilities and experience managing a team
• Proficiency in financial software and databases
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity
• Effective decision-making skills and an ability to perform under pressure.
