Salary Mid-Point: $150,000 Location: Greensburg PA Job Type: Permanent IFG - Pittsburgh is actively recruiting a Controller responsible for oversight all accounting-related activities, including high-level accounting, managerial accounting, and finance activities across federal, state, local and commercial contracts. This role involves the preparation and management of operating budgets, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and performing crucial duties related to payroll reconciliation, billing, and account reconciliations. The Controller ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, maintains financial controls, and provides critical financial insights to support strategic decision-making. Additionally, this position involves supervising billing processes, monitoring accounts receivable, conducting variance analysis, and collaborating with department heads to develop budget proposals.
Responsibilities of the Controller Oversee the preparation and consolidation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes. Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines. Provide financial analysis and insights to support business strategy and decision-making. Analyze financial data and create reports for stakeholders, and regulatory bodies. Conduct variance analysis, budget forecasting, and financial modeling. Assist in the preparation and management of operating budgets including annual tax filing. Collaborate with business unit leaders to develop and review budget proposals. Oversee the preparation of financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local government reporting requirements and tax filings. Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit processes. Supervise billing processes to ensure accurate and timely invoicing. Monitor accounts receivable and ensure prompt collection of outstanding invoices. Resolve billing discrepancies and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency. Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Requirements of the Controller Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field Master's degree and/or CPA preferred 5+ years of experience in accounting or financial management, preferably within the government contracting sector Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and budgeting processes Proficiency in ERP accounting software package Strong proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Power BI, and Excel is a must Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
