Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller in BUCKNER, Kentucky. The role involves managing the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. This position requires the ability to identify training needs and manage the assignments and schedules of the accounting department staff. Responsibilities: • Oversee the functioning of the Accounting Department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll • Identify training needs and implement training programs for the accounting department staff • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures, implementing a system of internal controls to minimize risk • Ensure the production of periodic financial reports that comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards • Recommend benchmarks for measuring the company’s performance • Prepare the annual budget and forecasts, reporting significant budget differences to management • Provide financial analysis with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations • Liaise with external auditors and provide necessary information for the annual audit • File quarterly and annual reports as required • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements. Ten years or more of related experience required. Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred. Excellent management and supervisory skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Experience with Sage Intacct, Sage Estimating, and Paycor a plus.
