Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Controller in the industry of accounting and finance, located in Port St Lucie, Florida. The workplace offers a hybrid schedule, primarily onsite. Responsibilities: • Review and manage financial statements, including monthly rollups and depreciation • Handle reporting activities for clients with less than $5M • Oversee line of credit (LOCs) and tax related matters • Conduct regular reconciliation of ledger accounts • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal processes • Utilize accounting software systems, including QuickBooks and larger ERP systems, to manage accounting functions • Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) • Perform auditing tasks as required • Hold a CPA designation and use this expertise in reviewing financial statements • Oversee fixed asset depreciation and monthly depreciation • Potentially supervise a small staff team • Communicate updates to clients via email or phone regarding their books for final review. Requirements • Must have at least 7 years of experience in a Controller role or a similar position. • Proficient in various Accounting Software Systems. • In-depth knowledge of Accounting Functions including both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). • Strong background in Auditing. • Possess a CPA Designation. • Experienced in reviewing Financial Statements. • Ability to prepare Year-end Financial Statements. • Skilled in Ledger Account Reconciliation. • Knowledge of Fixed Asset Depreciation and Monthly Depreciation processes. • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines. • Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. • High level of integrity and dependability. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required; advanced degree is a plus.
