Description We are offering an exciting opportunity in the heart of Minneapolis, Minnesota, for a Controller in the nonprofit sector. This key role will provide critical support to our finance team through a variety of functions, including leading audits, managing payroll, and preparing financial statements. Responsibilities: • Spearhead the year-end audits and preparation of 990s to ensure compliance and accuracy • Oversee the creation and presentation of comprehensive financial statements to stakeholders • Actively collaborate on grant and loan reporting, ensuring all reports are accurate and timely • Handle payroll management, ensuring all employees are compensated accurately and promptly • Oversee the reconciliation process and maintain the general ledger to ensure financial accuracy • Manage and support the finance team, providing guidance and assistance where necessary • Leverage accounting software systems like Great Plains/Management Reporter and Excel to streamline processes • Oversee budget processes, ensuring financial stability and effectiveness • Handle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all transactions are processed accurately • Conduct regular audits, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or issues. Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in a Controller role or similar position. • Proficient in using 3M, a mandatory requirement for this job role. • Must have extensive experience with Accounting Software Systems. • Knowledge of ADP - Financial Services is essential. • Proficiency in CRM is highly desirable. • Must be experienced in using Crystal Reports. • A deep understanding of Accounting Functions is required. • Must have hands-on experience with Accounts Payable (AP). • Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR) is essential. • Prior experience in Auditing is required. • Must be well-versed with Budget Processes.
