Job Description Insight Global is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Controller to join the finance team for an Outdoor Equipment Company based in Kelowna BC. The Financial Controller will oversee the financial operations of Northern Lite, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective financial management to support the companys strategic goals. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting: o Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. o Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS). o Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making. Budgeting and Forecasting: o Develop and manage annual budgets in collaboration with department heads. o Monitor budget performance and report variances. o Prepare financial forecasts and set financial targets. Internal Controls: o Implement and maintain internal control systems to safeguard assets. o Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures. Compliance and Taxation: o Ensure compliance with Canadian and US tax regulations. o Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. o Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and advise management accordingly. Payroll and Accounts Management: o Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. o Manage accounts payable and receivable functions. o Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions. Data Analysis and Reporting: o Collect, analyze, and consolidate financial data to support strategic planning. o Prepare detailed financial reports and presentations for senior management.
