Description Company Overview: Our company is a leading commercial real estate firm specializing in the property management of industrial and commercial properties. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our dynamic team in a highly visible role with strong growth potential. Job Summary:1 The Controller will be responsible for overseeing full-cycle accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls for our commercial property management portfolio. This individual must have extensive experience in commercial property management accounting, including CAM reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and compliance with bank covenants. The ideal candidate will possess a CPA license and have in-depth knowledge of Yardi software, institutional investor reporting, and audit coordination. Key Responsibilities: + Oversee full-cycle accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial statement preparation. + Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for institutional investors, private equity firms, and banking partners. + Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement preparation, including reviewing journal entries and property financial statements. + Conduct CAM reconciliations and ensure compliance with lease terms. + Develop and implement internal controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting. + Monitor and report on bank covenants and compliance requirements. + Lead and streamline the accounting department by optimizing workflows and procedures. + Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors, ensuring smooth audit processes and financial compliance. + Work closely with asset management, operations, and executive leadership to support strategic financial planning. + Utilize Yardi software for financial reporting, property accounting, and portfolio management. Requirements Qualifications: + CPA license required. + Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. + Minimum of 7+ years of experience in commercial real estate property management accounting. + Strong proficiency in Yardi software. + Extensive experience with CAM reconciliations and full-cycle accounting. + Prior experience working with institutional investors and private equity firms. + Knowledge of financial reporting on bank covenants and compliance. + Proven ability to create and implement internal controls. + Experience in streamlining accounting operations and managing auditors. + Prior work experience in a company with approximately $800 million in AUM is preferred. + Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
