Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller in Pasadena, California. As part of our team, your main role will be to manage the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accurate reports and compliance with grant requirements. You will also be tasked with data gathering for budget development, identifying cost savings, and overseeing the payroll process.
Responsibilities
• Accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses for diverse stakeholders
• Ensuring adherence to financial obligations related to grant requirements
• Collaborating with department heads to gather data for the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts
• Regular monitoring and analysis of budget-to-actual variances, with updates to leadership
• Identifying and implementing opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiency improvements
• Overseeing the payroll process, providing backup when necessary
• Managing staff responsible for accounting and payroll activities
• Designing and managing software applications and processes related to accounting and payroll functions in collaboration with relevant officers
• Ensuring the smooth running of all accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller role or similar.
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems.
• Extensive knowledge of Accounting Functions.
• Experience handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Proven track record in Auditing.
• Familiarity with Budget Processes.
• Experience with Foundation Grants and Government Grants.
• Expertise in Budgeting and Forecasting.
• Ability to manage Month End Close process.
