Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity in the Retail & Service industry in Omaha, Nebraska. The role is for a Controller, who will be primarily tasked with managing accounting and financial reporting activities and assisting with various financial tasks as the primary leader of the Omaha accounting & finance team for this organization. This position will also assist with other hands-on tasks relating to month-end close, budgeting/forecasting, yearly audits, external bank and vendor management, and will work regularly with the site General Manager and other operational leadership. This is a full-time, permanent position located in the Omaha Metro area.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee procedures for handling all cash
• Conduct reconciliation and analysis of several balance sheet accounts
• Analyze financial results for use both internally and externally
• Track and maintain monthly profit/loss and balance sheet activity
• Develop forecasts and budgets, identifying potential risks and opportunities
• Conduct reviews of the general ledger and balance sheets
• Resolve various accounting and reconciliation issues
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including management of report preparation and distribution
• Maintain inventory and cost control procedures
• Administer Payroll and Human Resources-related tasks
• Undertake related duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business related field highly preferred
• Minimum of 3-5+ years of progressive accounting & finance experience required, but all experience levels will be considered
• Prior supervisory experience highly preferred, but not required
• Proficiency in full scale ERP systems - a plus if candidate has experience with SAP
• Solid understanding of Accounting Functions, including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Proven experience in Auditing
• Familiarity with Budget Processes
• Ability to perform Financial Reporting and Monthly Financial Reporting
• Knowledge of Month-end Close Activities, Month-end Financial, Month-end Journal Entries, and Month-end Reports
• Proficiency in Cash and Bank Reconciliations, including Monthly Bank Reconciliation
• Ability to manage Annual Budget, Budget Management, and Budgeting, Cash Flow Statements/Forecasts
• Proficiency in using General Ledger and General Ledger Systems
