Description Our client, a leader in the state in their specialized construction-related space, is seeking a Controller due to growth. This role is crucial in managing and overseeing all financial operations within their business. The Controller will be tasked with ensuring the integrity of financial data, maintaining adherence to regulatory requirements, and aiding strategic decision-making through precise reporting and insightful analysis. This position is based in the Jurupa Valley, CA area. Responsibilities: • Supervise Accounts Payable (A/P), Accounts Receivable (A/R), and General Ledger (G/L) operations for precision and timely execution. • Manage the month-end close process, ensuring all financial records adhere to company standards. • Generate periodic financial statements and reports using accounting software systems for management and ownership review. • Head job costing initiatives to effectively monitor project performance and profitability. • Oversee project tracking by providing financial insight throughout a project's lifecycle. • Coordinate compliance reporting for certified payroll, union audits, and prevailing wage obligations to meet regulatory and contractual requirements. • Construct and maintain budgets and forecasts for the company and individual projects. • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and develop monthly financial dashboards to provide actionable insights for stakeholders. • Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis as requested by ownership to influence business strategy. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related role, preferably as a Controller • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance a plus but not required • Construction industry experience preferred • Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) • Strong knowledge of Budget Processes and ability to oversee them • Proficiency in Project Accounting and Job Cost Analysis a plus • Experience with QuickBooks Contractor edition a plus.
