Description We are in the process of expanding our Accounting and Advisory practice and are in need of a Controller to join our team based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Controller will be instrumental in working closely with our clients, providing them with strategic advice and support. This role will involve serving a diverse range of clients as a recurring Controller and spearheading project-based work across various industries. Responsibilities: • Lead and manage multiple client engagements, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables • Oversee the client's accounting operations, including all processes related to month-end and year-end closings • Evaluate the financial systems, processes, policies, and controls of current and potential clients, and provide recommendations for improvements • Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls for the safeguarding of client assets and compliance • Prepare, review, and approve financial reports in accordance with GAAP and other applicable standards • Guide clients through the selection, design, and implementation of new policies, software, and other accounting systems • Provide support to clients in preparing for and navigating through external audits • Advise clients on strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting • Set and maintain compliance standards to meet federal, state, and local requirements. Requirements • Position requires a minimum of 7 years of experience as a Controller or in a similar role • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is mandatory • Extensive knowledge of Accounting Functions is essential • Demonstrated expertise in Budget Processes is required • Experience with Journal Entries is a must • Ability to perform Bank Reconciliations accurately and efficiently • Proven skills in preparing Financial Statements • An MBA degree is desirable • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is necessary • Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP is required Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
